Hi My M.O.T runs out next week so I rang up to get it booked in. The mechanic told me that we've all got 6 months grace, and they are only MOT ing bikes that haven't had a current MOT for a year. If it's due or just run out, we're ok for 6 months. When you do get it MOT 'ed it then last 1 year as usual. So 6 months free.

Just make sure it is roadworthy as it will be your responsibility to keep it so, brakes tyres etc as I'm sure if you were stopped and you had worn tyres the book would be thrown at you

Yes I agree Crispey, If you get stopped on anything that's an mot failure, you're going to be in trouble. but by the time we can go for a jolly the 6 months will be up anyway. :(

The 6 months is only applicable to MOT's due after 31st March so if yours expires before then and you get stopped......
