    Hi pals !
I have an odd one now.

let me try to be as clear as possible.
    Typical scenario:

i’m on a country road on 3rd, few twists and turns and then comes a long stretch of straight road:

    - i swiftly twist my throttle for a good acceleratio
    - without using my clutch
-the revs go higher, but too high
-i looks like I’m revving with the clutch engaged
-once the bike has caught up with the required speed the revs calm down

and it feels (feels, not sure) like my rpms are generally too high ??!?

    You’re clutch is slipping :(
Check the free play at the lever:)
It should be in the hand book :)

Hey dili ! Always good to hear from you.
    Thanks for your feedback.
I'll check again but i doubt it's that, I thought about it but could not find any problem. I'll re check though. Cheers.

I doubt it is clutch freeplay. For the problem to be freeplay, it would have to be adjusted too tight / unless the adjustment was played with. Clutch plates may be going away [ OR you might just need to change the oil]. More likely the clutch plates. ...J.D.

I agree it sounds like clutch slippage. How old (how many miles) on the clutch?
And what type of oil do you use. Automotive oil, or motorcycle specific oil? If automotive oil it is not recommended as it can make a clutch slip.

Yep agree with @dilligaf and the above engine rpm increasing without the increased speed = clutch ajustments or clutch itself

Yeah a few mods, I am at work today, and probably most of week (given recent healthcare actualities we'll see) but I'll check again if I can find any problems with the clutch and test the results. Bike just passed MOTs (litterally 10 days ago) but this might have passe under the radar or simply a little glitch might have happened since.

To answer your questions, the clutch must have at least 10 000 miles on it (but not much more than that). And complete oil change was done by a professional last year, although I don't know what he used.

Anyway there seems to be a consensus on clutch. Let's see about that.

And thank you all, your time and help is vastly appreciated.

Clutch would not have come under the mot checking procedure at all Sam.

    Zip Tie induced clutch slipping.
The zip tie used to tie the clutch cable to the frame was creating the problem.
    Thanks guys ! Solved.

The cable, once loose, during testing has melted against the pipes.
    FFS ! :joy:

Probably need simply to cover the burn and find a balance between the two positioning issues. :yum

The opposite Too tight. Anyways, this cable 's position has been an issue for a while I need to fix it once and for all and to re do the cluth adjustments after that.
