I need some new gripsMaybe a daft question, but are the heated grips on my Sprint GT actually heated, or is there a heated element beneath the grips? I have had a look at the Fowlers parts drawings as best I can, and it still doesn't seem clear.

The grips are heated, you cannot buy new elements alone.
As a replacement have a look at the Oxford range, much better than the Triumph ones with a greater range of heat settings and really toasty warm!!!

Cheers Duck - I like to know how things work. It explains why the grips are bulkier than I like. I guess it may be possible to remove the old grips but still retain the heating element then.

I had an issue with one of my heated grips on the Trophy and was an easy fix.

So, that looks like the grip itself is not heated, but there is a heating coil beneath the rubber grip. Is that right?

Correct, one of the wires was pinched between the end of the bar and the end weight. Just soldered, sheathed and hey presto.
