    i-kJv9NZQ-4K.jpg Hi from California USA.
I have a '08 Sprint ST1050 abs. I think that's the only version we got from that year.
Great engine and overall nice fit and finish.
I need more leg room so I'm looking into lowering the pegs.
I changed to HID headlights which helped brightness and the, IMO, odd pattern.
The two issues I have are the front brake master cylinder or calipers seem to need to be pumped up. On other motorcycles I've been able to bleed out this kind of thing or the master cylinder or a caliper were bad. I've bleed them a few times and it helps but they always go back to being low, then with a pump or two of the front brake lever they pump up to normal. They work even when low but I don't like to think about the brakes too much. I just want them to work well. I'll try to bleed them again and the ABS system before I start to buy parts.

The other issue is the heat the comes out of the fairings onto your legs. It's not been bad because it's winter here but I doubt I will ride it again if it's over 80 F. I wear boots and riding pants but the heat will eventually make you wish you were on something else. I've read about foam being inside the fairings. The left one seems to get hotter but the right isn't nice either. The foam pieces seem to be there and in the right places.

Overall I like the smoothness and handling of the Sprint. I've had 4th and 5th gen VFR's and liked them. I currently have a GSA and ST3S. The Sprint's engine is my favorite feeling but I like the VFR's sound better. But the triple is more powerful and the extra torque make it easy to ride.

Welcome to a terrific forum and a great motorcycle community, socalnative! Thanks for sharing some photos. Please post more with the ocean included. I lived in San Diego for eight years and now am in the desert. Sometimes I just need an ocean fix--even if it's a photograph!

Welcome from another So.Cal. native [San Bernardino County]. You might post your mechanical questions in the Sprint & Trophy section and get a little more response. Hey all us California guys need to organise a ride-in meet. It would take at least two, North and South. [California is big enough to be it's own country]…J.D.
