Miss Annie out with Mr. Sandi and me on a little walk around the cup-de-sac on one of the first days I walked outdoors about a week and a half ago. Always on the alert, this dog! She's my protector angel.
Thanks for asking She is a lot brighter, tail wagging like it used to, got her appetite back (oh, has she got her appetite back!) but you can tell she's still got some infection going on, there's pus in her piddle still, but she's still on antibiotics, and it seems to be clearing up. Got a few more days of the antibiotics to go, and then back to the vets for the stitches out. Scar is nice and clean, bit pink at the ends, but not hot or angry looking. Seeing as she was actually in season less than a month ago, the spay has left her suddenly lacking in hormones, so it seems she is now incontinent. The same thing happened with Tia, so we are prepared for it already, we have the herbal stuff for Tia (which works well, and is a lot cheaper than the £90 a month pills from the vets) so will get her started on that soon as she's off the meds, it might clear itself up once she's not ingesting chemicals! She's got a very bald belly, and of course it's now snowing, she's still wearing the after surgery vest which is stopping her from licking or scratching at the stitches, so at least it's keeping her warm underneath when she goes out, which is very often at the moment. She loves the snow too! All in all, I'm very pleased with her progress considering just how poorly she was this time last week.
Incidentally, I think I might have mentioned this before, but the place we get the herbal stuff from is https://www.csjk9.com/ The herb mix we have been using with Tia is called "hold it". It takes a couple weeks to get in the system, but it does work. Tia drinks a lot, and after she was spayed we found that she simply couldn't hang on to her water, she'd get up to go out and she would be wetting herself before she got to the door. Now she is holding it until she gets out, and then she floods the yard. Considering renaming her 'Laguna'... She has also lost the air of panicked urgency too. So, yes, it does work. They have a lot of stuff on there.... Worth a look.
Thanks for the update, @Big Sandy! I’m so glad to read that she’s doing better. Hope her good progress continues
Sad day today for us. One of our cats died suddenly this afternoon, and she was only 2 years old. We suspect it was heart failure after the vet told us she’d heard a Heart murmur at her last check up. RIP little one.
So very sorry to read about the loss of your little kitty, @freck. It's so hard to lose our loving furry friends. Thinking of you as you mourn her spirit and her short life with you.
Thanks everyone. It was very sudden, I’d just gone upstairs for 5 minutes and she was playing with her brother and when I came down again she was just laid still. At least it would have been quick and hopefully relatively painless for her. It’s never nice to lose any pet especially so young.
Chacha is heating so looks a lot younger than her 12 years. One of her “babies” positioned on the coach, which is the normal sign, along with shoes in her bed
A couple of my boy, just 14 months old so still a puppy really! He's very happy at the moment that Daddy is working from home!
Thanks very much. One is a handful enough so two must be even better! He a lovely family member who's great with kids but he's protective of his home and family and senses any negative vibes quickly. He looks after my toys too!
This little lady is the only thing that is making us smile and keeping us sane at the moment what with the asshole neighbor and the virus avoidance...life would be very grim without her to brighten our days.
Yes Dozers Dad, I've still been taking him for his twice daily walks, although might have to restrict this to one walk per day if things get worse and just exercise him in the garden. He's a high energy dog and needs to release it otherwise he starts doing relay races in the house!
Haha, brilliant! She looks lovely and living the high life! Struggling to tell but is she a Bull Terrier or Staffy?
That's great and good on you for rescuing a dog. That's great to hear that at her age she's still full of energy, sign of a happy and healthy dog. Bless her!
