She is lovely. Our boy was the same. Couldn’t mention words like ‘walk’ ‘go’ ‘time’ or he would go mental. He even figured out when we spelt the words
After catching him steal a couple we set him up and got the pic...he loved my misses home made mince pies and could get a whole on in his mouth...Siamese are real characters and far to clever for their own good. DD dogs have owners ...cats have staff...but they have a charming way of letting you think its all about you. We also had two GSDs and two border collies ....and two cats at one time in fact they belonged to my misses when we first got together and one of the Shepherds resented me so ate my jacket and watch.
Annie, our collie cross, and the cat we had at the time (Holly) became great friends eventually. For the first few weeks after we got Annie, Holly lived on top of the fridge. But after a while, Holly would start out on walks with us, up to the edge of her territory, then sit outside the house waiting for our return, when she'd run up to Annie and welcome her back. Our current cat and dog (Chilli and Tam) don't get on at all. But the odd thing is, inside the house Chilli cat is boss and Tam is proper scared of her. Tam won't come into a room if Chilli is already in the room, unless one of us accompanies her in. Chilli has chased and scratched Tam more than once. But outside, Tam is boss. She'll chase the cat out of the garden if they meet outside. My little brother is a cat fan. Him and his partner have several cats of their own, and foster cats that need temporary accommodation when the Cat Protection place is full. They can see different personalities in every cat they've ever had.
That a good picture Duck, reminded me of my old German Shepheard, I had an old T120 and side car for the winter and he loved riding in it better than a bike alarm he was, I wonder what's going through your dogs mind looking at the cat.
Loving and loyal Miss Annie continues to watch over me while I'm in my makeshift office in the living room with my wheelchair, TV tray, and laptop. Note what's on my computer.
My first day back out for a walk after my bicycle crash with Mr. Sandi and Miss Annie. Ahhh, it was so awesome to be out in the sunshine and with my man and pooch. Life is good. That's my shadow in the bottom righthand corner snapping the pic. I made it a big 20 minutes on the non-paved path. Mr. Sandi and Annie were patient and kind and moved slowly.
Well, we've "adopted" another dog now!! We've gone from 2 to 4 dogs in a matter of a few weeks. As you may recall, we adopted a bulldog t'other week. Well, unfortunately, my mother in law died a couple of weeks ago. She lived next door, and her dog used to come into our house anyway, as our houses back onto a common yard. Mi wife is heartbroken at losing her Mum, and she's allus told her Mum that we'd look after her dog if owt happened to her. So I introduce Daisy the Daschund, in her favourite position, with our Bertie. Daisy won't leave our lasses side.
Introducing Yuki who is Milos understudy we couldn't stand an empty house any longer and went and picked up this little furry beast last Sunday and she has us trained already...she is very smart and has a big heart for such a small cat.
Sorry to hear about the circumstances surrounding your new acquisition Foxy - pass on the condolences to your wife, please. I'm not a 'dog person' but I do recognise that they have an amazing, innate ability to recognise human emotions and to respond accordingly. Daisy is going to be a companion and a real comfort at this time!
Hey TD, she is a beautiful little cat - hopefully big enough to fill the hole in your hearts and lives! I assume that she's not fully grown? Is she a pure breed or a regular "moggy" with some pedigree lineage?
Hi Adie, she is an Oriental short hair and has full pedigree she is only 14 weeks but is small and will never be a big cat.....but she sure makes up for it in character.
Mollie is in sick bay at the moment. She was very down looking, and coming home on Thursday she was sick... So Friday watched what she was eating, kept an eye on her all day. No appetite, and she seemed to be bloating. Rang the vet, and took her straight up the road to Thurso. She got an ultrasound there and then, vet says she has an inter uterine infection. (she had a season about 2 weeks ago). Anyway, she was operated on within an hour, and the vet removed the uterus, which was full of pus, and weighed 1.5kg! Hopefully will be able to bring her home today. What scares me is how well she hid that she was ill! It wasn't until late in the day when she started bloating that I really started to worry... The vet said another day or so and it would have burst and killed her. If only they could talk, and tell you they don't feel right. That's the vet on the phone now... Going to collect her, she's not eating properly, have to monitor her very closely. Bye for now.
I hope she makes a full and speedy recovery. It is incredible how much dogs hide illness and pain, but also amazing at how quickly they can bounce back and recover.
The Lass is home! Poor Mollie, she's very dopey, but has had a bit of chicken, and some small biccies. Looking brighter than she did on Friday, for sure. Vet was surprised about the size of the mass, she said it wasn't until Moll was out of it and relaxed that she could see the size of it, she had hidden it so well. Now to pay the bill.... Worth every penny, so glad to have her back.
So glad to read that Mollie is home and doing so much better, Big Sandy. It's scary when our pets are ill and doubly so when they hide how they feel and things get back. Glad she's back at home with you. I've paid some large vet bills over the years and it has been worth every penny every single time.
