I agree with @half ton, @OsteKuste! On the off chance you do sell the bike (though that sounds highly unlikely) so someone who just has to have them, you'll have them and they can be welded back in later. But really, you love the bike and, as you said, it has found its "forever home". So go for it and really make it yours and just how you like it. That's part of truly loving your bike! Every bike I've owned I've gotten rid of the passenger pegs nearly immediately. Two of my bikes didn't even come with them (Thruxton R and Low Rider S). I even took them off my Road King and my current Road Glide. I don't ever intend to take a passenger and to they they just clutter up the bike particularly if they aren't going to serve a purpose.
Looking at a left over 2018 800xc a dealer has listed for $11k. I like the way the 800 fits but haven’t seen the new 900 yet. If the new one doesn’t feel any heavier or unwieldy I could wait for one of those. Will be used as a commuter and occasional multi day trip ride. Nothing too extreme.
Ah yes, and I should have added pillion peg supports when they were removable. The one bike that was odd was my 2012 Thruxton. The pillion supports held on the mufflers. Anyway, I found some great mufflers on British Customs that didn't need those particular supports and was able to take them off AND keep my mufflers on at the same time.
S Same here, I reached the stock pipes with British Customs slash cut drag pipes that do not use the pillion mounting point. Another reason I’m thinking of cutting them.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that photo, @OsteKuste! You should have it made into a poster. Where the heck is that wall behind your gorgeous bike? Stunning. And BTW, now that I see that photo, those pillion mounting points just HAVE to go. This is not a bike for two.
That is a wall outside my local dealer who are in the process of leaving Triumph. Can’t say I’m sad about that because they are shite anyway.
Well, at least they had a cool Triumph logo wall. And you got a great photo of your bike in front of it before they bite the dust and the paint over the wall.
Cool breeze and dry roads, I just had to get the tiger on the road. Had a short blast before the rugby and then cleaned it after the game. It was good to be back in the saddle after the shite weather we have had of late
Had a pop out, pulled over to take this pic and was shocked with amount of people that came over to talk. Norbert wasn't fussed so we came home and I gave him his first bath.
Went for a 180 miler in all weathers, sunny but cold by the end of it. I posted more pics in the ride out forum
Norbert?? Ok, @Rspete, what's the story with that? Nice photo BTW. Can't say I'm surprised at all the interest!
@Sandi T. Me and the family attended motorcycle live last year with my sole intention of seeing the new rocket, when I had my turn of sitting on it mrs rspete said..... It's lovely but it's a little bit Norbert, I found this name very amusing so it stuck. When asked why Norbert she said due to it's massive headlights its like something from an eighties sci-fi program.
I'm dying to get out on my bike again but this shite weather just won't let up! Not taking her out till the salt's off the roads. In the mean time, I made myself this cool motorcycle bag & have been planning my West coast solo camping trip!
