Good morning everyone! After neglecting my bike (2010 Bonneville) for too long, I'm hoping to get some riding in as the weather gets nicer. New Mexico has a lot of quiet back roads, although it's easy to find yourself on miles of boring straights... or in the dirt (ask me about 20 miles of rutted forest road on Mount Taylor). Yesterday I finally did the secondary air injection deletion I've been meaning to do for a couple years, although of course I'd neglected the bike so long the battery had gone flat and I couldn't test it! (it's on the tender now, as it should have been all along).

Having taken a low-speed spill several years back, my bike's a bit scratched up on the left side of the transmission and on the left-hand exhaust pipe, so I'm hoping to get some pointers on finding replacements here too.

Welcome to a terrific forum and a great bunch of folks, Floren. I'm practically a neighbor of yours as I hail from Tucson. My husband and I love riding in northern New Mexico and we have friends in Albuquerque. As others have said, we'd love to see pics of your bike, scratches and all. :)

I took a picture after riding to lunch, today being a beautifully sunny and warm day. It rode very nicely and I picked up the OBD2 reader I'd loaned to a friend, so I should be able to disable the annoying CEL that's come up due to the SAI delete.

Great photo and lovely bike, Floren! It looks like a lovely day in Albuquerque. But, aaack, too many acronyms! :p CBD2 reader, CEL, SAI. Translation please?!;)

    Got them all, 3/3!

I'm overall in favor of emissions controls but on a small 4-stroke engine I ride relatively infrequently... I'm taking the option which makes it easier to get at the spark plugs!

Yeah, I did know CBD. I know about onboard diagnostics and check engine light but we just say the words here in Arizona. :joy: Secondary air injection is new to me. CBD is quite popular here in Tucson and seems to be touted as the cure-all for most everything. In fact, a quick search pulled up a Yelp review of the Top 10 (how many ARE there?!) CBD oil stores in town. Even the local newscast has stories on CBD.
