howdee all seems like forever, iv had a few months of bad times, handed the ex wife over to her new future husband with 21 grand as a parting gift.....now i decided i needed a jap bike, had to old, usable, and above all, COOL so straight outa compton, "near Pennsylvanian i think" is this my new toy 1970 Honda SL350 in original condition, only missing 2 side badges, 2 exhaust shields, and, the tank decal........ only arrived at 0700 friday morning, and iv not had chance to do anything other than drain the dead fuel out, love it, so much i need its brither the CL (they look so similar to the 900 scrambler) last pic of what it should look like 11's
Congrats on the neat find! When I was growing up, these were everywhere. Definitely not high performance, but dead on reliable, as are most Hondas. Enjoy the ride.
I bet that is a lot of fun to ride round on, definitely something I would have if money and swmbo allowed

no restoration going on here, its staying as a original condition bike. Iv stripped and cleaned carbs, iv removed the kerosene that was in the fuel system and fuel tank. Actually thats been something thats preserved quite a lot if not most of the issues with bikes that are stood for many years...but still. all to do... New battery new carb kit and jets new tyres new air filters (see pic for reason) free starter motor look into slipping kickstart and thats it oh and get it registered did some cleaning yesterday
Looks like it has just come out of the jungle and unwilling to believe the war is over....... The trail bikes of that era were inexpensive fun and pretty durable.
Nice bike the old Honda motors were great as long as the oil changes were kept up. if not they had a noisy top end knock as cam housing was buggered. Hope you have fun re-commissioning it
Great buy and heaps of fun to ride. Much more "characterful" than the standard Jap road bikes of the era ( unless they're hoodlum two strokes). We didn't get these streets scrambler models in the uk but they have arrived in recent years usually as resto projects from US salvage yards. Mine is a 1971 CL175 that I've restored completely mechanically whilst retaining as much of the original painted parts as they are.
Cheers Joe. Yes it is pleasant on the eye and goes pretty well if you are prepared to rev it hard. The exhaust system is the original, albeit silencer/pipe welded back together by me, and with the baffles having turned to ferrous dust years ago, it sounds like it's taken steroids!
dude seriously, she was that desperate to fek off to her new guy she made all the right mistakes, including....leaving my cars and bikes nd house, and my army and fire service pensions. In her agreement it did state we wouldnt chase future wealth, so all the pension stuff was left.....mind you i did later find out he was a millionaire she ran off with. haha so glad to see the back of her now
