Hi guys, Long time no see! I have a question for you: Does anyone has knowledge of A custom centre stand stop bracket? Here is the problem: on my Bonneville 2015 T 100 black I have fitted custom exhaust, The Westlake Powecones , and I am currently in the process of fitting a centre stand. First difficulty was to figure out what goes where knowing that there is no video about it and no manual and the triumph manual doesn’t exactly correspond to the parts that tec gives you with this stand. Most annoying is a hex bolt that has no purpose that I could understand and I really don’t see what it is supposed to do. But after tinkering a little bit and managed to fit the whole thing. Only problem now is that my custom exhaust don’t come with a centre stand stop point as the stock one do. Hence the centre stands now rubs against the chain when not in use. There is though in the tec package a rubber stopper to prevent the centre stand from banging anywhere. Has any of you seen any spare parts, a bracket I suppose, that could be use to mount the rubber stopper given with the centre stand for the stand to be stopped before it rubs against the chain or my exhausts. Cheers.
“For bikes with aftermarket exhausts please contact us first before purchasing.” Did you?! On normal set ups the rubber stop is on the left hand exhaust.
So, what was the consensus? no bracket or alternative than to atach the rubber stop to an exhaust. If i remember correctly british customs do a bracket or a solution if you get their exhaust tips. I do fancy trying my T120 without the peashooters on, but don't think the cost of the exhaust tips justifies wanting the centre stand bracket/stopper.
Thanks guys, sorry about the late answer. TEC sort me out. They had something made for this. Simply wasn't in the pack because I did not ask for it.
Hi Sam, Was the bracket specific to your exhaust or generic bracket that can be bought seperate. Asking because i was thinking of taking of the exhausts and fitting only tips or nothing at all while i make the decision, but would need a centre stand stopper.
It looks like a very generic thing. Only issue for my configuration -Bonneville T100 Black 2015 -Westlake powercones -Tec Centre Stand is that the plastic spacer used behind the frame behind the bolt is too thick for the passer peg bolt to contain the exhaust, the frame and the stand stopping bracket. I had hence to remove it for now and give the securing bolt a few extra twists to secure the whole lot, but I don't really like this bracket, It could potentially move out of the way under a bit of shock from a pothole and let the stand rub again the chain during travel. I'm going to have to find a replacement spacer or reduce the one I have but the dimensions and material s of it don't help making it a simple and clean task without a workbench.
