So I own a 2017 Triumph Street Cup (black/silver) and thought it had a nice low rumble UNTIL...I rode my friends 2018 Street Twin. The exhaust note of his Street Twin blew me away. Fast forward a month, my wife just bought the 2019 Street Twin and the exhaust note once again is pure heaven. Low, grumbly and rowdy. After investigating the difference in my slightly hollow sounding Street Cup vs. their low and rowdy exhaust I found that the Street Cup has an internal baffle while the Street Twin does not!!! WHAT???!! How can this be that the "racer" version has the lamer exhaust. Does anyone know if this baffle can be removed? I've heard of people drilling it out which doesn't bode well with the thought it can easily be removed but...can it? Also, has anyone bought a set of E-bay mufflers and mounted them? You know the sub $100 mufflers? Post pics please if you have! I've read that the diameter of the pipe is 39cm or approx. 1 1/2" Can anyone second that?

    Hi Celticages,

I know your post is dated, and I don't have a direct answer to your question, but I have seen folks put Street Twin mufflers on their Street Cup. Not sure if it was for the sound, or the look. But, your question adds to what I have seen.

Also too... if you don't like the stock sound, would you be interested in selling your stock mufflers? I have a Street Cup that came with "shorties" on it, and I don't like their volume.

    Thanks,
    Steve
