Just picked up a 2003 speed four 600 to tinker with. She's been in a shed for 12 months, then out on the patio of the guys parents for about six months until he was told it had to go....

Picked it up last night and 1st impressions, she looks like she just needs some loving and fresh fluids to start with, oh and a new battery....

Not sure if she'll be a keeper, as I had a major "loss of talent" while riding my old Harley home from work ten plus years ago and my right ankle is FUBAR'd and I can't operate the back brake with the current pedal. It looks like it was built for a ballet dancer, rather than a 6' 2" gorilla :grinning:

I apologise in advance if I repeat questions that have been asked before..

    Thanks

    Keaney

Hi Keaney, You'll love the Speed four, They have great handling and are quick off the mark. Mine has a power band that kicks in at 3,000 revs so I'm usually 1st away from the lights. Give it a go, if like me you'll fall in love with it. Mind you at 6ft 2ins it might be a bit small for you. I'm only a 5ft 7ins squirt.

Thanks for the reply, it does feel a little on the small side for me. It was funny watching the previous owner struggle to wheel it about. He was shocked when I lifted the back end off the ground to help him turn it around on the drive. I'm used to lifting and carrying crap about in my job so the back end of a motorcycle isn't too much drama. I'm going to give her a wash down over the weekend and try and shock some life back into the battery. Hopefully hear her motor run by Sunday evening....

Welcome to the family. Great bike. Right colour for the inmates here in the asylum. Getting hard to find the fours. Once you get it running and hear that sweet engine you will be addicted again. It should have a very sensitive gear change so does not take great effort to slip it through the gears. And you can adjust things to make it more comfortable. You know what they say size doesn't really mater.
    Regards & Ride safe
    Joe.
