Daytona 595 indicated 165. Agree with earlier comment that a straight motorway becomes very bendy at that speed.

146 on my tiger 1050, ( actual speed set to match sat nav ) little bit left in her too. Ran out of road.

Hardly think a few old crusties need worry about posting a few "typing errors" on a bike forum. ;):)

136.43mph at the end of a standing start quarter mile on the Street triple (Only ever managed 135 on the Fireblade!)
I saw over 160 on the speedo a couple of times on my ZZR on the Autobahn before traffic and other conditions put paid to playtime.

I rarely see 3 figures on the roads these days, preferring to play in the twisty bits or on track.

145 mph (indicated) was as fast as my R1100S would go, redline in top gear.

It's hard to remember. I think 147 mph (indicated) on my 2002 R1 was the fastest, sometime in the mid-2000's.

It was a non-event for the R1. That bike always seemed a little bored with my riding and was no doubt wondering when the fast guys were going to come over for a ride. But for me it was waaaay too fast for the street.

I've done a few track days but doubt if I was going faster than 147 mph at the end of the main straight at Pacific Raceways (Seattle, WA).

178 mph indicated. 2006 GSX-R750, great bike! Felt every bit as stable at that speed as it did at 70 mph.

Rev limiter top gear Hayabusa German Autobahn 2015. Unable to confirm speedo reading as concentrating so much in order to stay alive. F**k me, why did I do that. scary but absolutely brilliant. Very irresponsible. My colleague on his Fireblade gave up at 160.
Also Snetterton (pre infield circuit) back straight 170 mph almost every lap ( hit 175 on speedo once but ran on, unable to make corner)

Circa 2017. Thruxton R red line top gear, again Autobahn, indicated 130 mph. Same Colleague on Fireblade passed me at 160. I’m vertically challenged but swear my arms are an inch longer.Happy Days!!

I was a little disappointed after buying a new T140 back in the 80s and finding it would only do about 122....after running in of course ...remember running in.;)

Yeah, isn't that something? Modern sport bikes make going fast in a straight line such a non-event. They are made to go lose-your-license fast with no fuss.

120mph on a RD350 LC back in 1984. Not particularly fast but it was hair raising how quickly it got to that speed :grinning:

Not a high speed by other accounts but 127 mph on my 1250 Bandit. It's just the ease with which it reached that speed. I'd just come out of a roundabout and decided to overtake a couple of cars on a dual carriageway. A quick glance to the speedo and I thought "shit, I'd better slow down". It's soooo easy to do daft speeds in the wrong places.
