Had my Bonnie since aug 2014 , done 7800 on the standard tyres , but the rear has squared off , still 2.5mm left but will replace as a a pair , but what to buy. Mine is the 17inch alloy wheel model. tia
I ran two sets of Avon Roadrider AM26 on my Bonny and found them to be good grip in all conditions, long lasting and great value.
Found this only after I had already bought direct replacement Metzelers for the original ones which are knackered after 7500 miles. The Avon Roadriders get a thumbs up for high mileage, with Dunlop GT501 the best for performance. https://rideapart.com/articles/best-tire-options-for-triumph
at 4,000m my rear tyre squared off so as to make it unpleasant riding over ruts /ridges etc. I think being a 130/80R17 size (narrow to me) exaggerated the squaring. I have a Tiger800 too with ~8,000m on the rear 150/70R17, and it has squared but still has rounded shoulders and handles well. so I fitted a 150/70R17 to the rear, makes the bike feel really stable but the steering has been slowed. Conclusion : I'd be better off with stock size 130/80R17 but with a dual compound tyre. Choice is limited in that size, thinking of Metzeler Tourance Next or Continental Road Attack 2. There's much more choice for the 110/70R17 front, but it won't be a matching pair (which I don't mind). I'm looking at radial tyres only. just read that rideapart link in previous post, and notice the Thruxton recommendations are for 150/70R17 size, just what I fitted!
