I quite like the dialogues (and the build up) actually. But tastes differ, I suppose.

Things that I really enjoyed about Once Upon a Time were the cinematography and scenery, the nods and references (many factual) to "old" Hollywood, the terrific soundtrack, and the great cast. I also liked how Tarantino wove reality and his (in)famous storytelling together which made for both nostalgia and surprises. Especially that ending! Oh yeah, and Brad Pitt. And Brad Pitt with his shirt off.:yum

We have a little independent cinema near us The Rex in Berkhamsted.Last night it celebrated its 15th Anniversary party. You book tickets, have some small canapés and a few drinks before the movie and off you go . Now the strange thing is, on anniversary night you never know what movie you are going to see ..! You also get a Q and A after the film with someone from the cast or production team . Last night the film was “the Early days of David Copperfield” produced by Alassandro Iannucci. Well I have never read any Dickens but the film was ... strange. Did I enjoy it ? Yes. But when Dev Patel is cast as David Copperfield that tells you all you need to know ! It was the UK premier last night and nice that it was held in our local small cinema !
Alessandro Iannucci then came up on stage and spent half an hour discussing the film. A great evening but a slightly strange yet entertaining film.

Not a film but a new TV series, if you are a Star Wars fan you will love this, The Mandalorian.

    A Perfect Day.

Just watched on Netflix, story of a corpse in a well and aid workers trying to remove it. Doesn't sound a great premise, but is actually a good story of people in Bosnia as the war is coming to a close and how it affects the people. Benicio del Toro and Tim Robbins star. Surprisingly Tim Robbins was decent in it, don't particularly like his other stuff.

Take a walk on the wild side and download it via a VPN, they can't track you whatever you do.

Three and a half hours of your life your not getting back !!!

It really is a bit too long and pretty dull. They can CGI the faces, but they are still oap's acting. Watch DeNiro giving someone a kicking, it's unintentionally hilarious:laughing:

Took us three sessions to get through it:confused:

Not a film but a TV series called "GRACEPOINT" watched on PRIME. It dates from 2014 and is a remake/rehash of the UK tv series "BROADCHURCH" and stars David Tennant as the lead detective in a child murder mystery. Very well acted, good plot with more than a few "teaser" clues and 'curve balls' thrown in, and some real depth to the characters and the subject. Definitely worth a watch.

I noticed some chatter earlier in the thread about "GOLIATH" and Billy Bob Thornton. I recently finished watching Season 3 and have to say that it's the weakest - and weirdest - of the 3. Some big name actors in this but the plot is weak - and weird - and doesn't do ANY of the actors any favours. It's implausible; rather "trippy" and, despite BBT's usual high standard performance, is generally not worth the time and effort.

Watched "Sniper Ghost Shooter" tonight. Plenty of bodies getting shot up and of course the goodies win in the end but not a bad watch. Also watched Midway last night. Apparently the critics slammed it but I enjoyed it. What do critics know anyway ?

Just got back from seeing "Last Christmas" - really good film, well written/directed, great cast especially Emma Thompson.

    Thoroughly good entertainment.
