Just got off the phone with UCLH and got the results of my recent scan and told that there was a small area of tissue that was a concern (cancer)....so back to London in the new year for another biopsy to see if i need or can have further focal therapy....trouble is if not its more radical treatment.:(

Thanks for the well wishes guys .....Just a bit of a blow there was me thinking that i was all sorted only to have to go through the whole regime again...my main worry is that if i have to have further treatment i may not be as lucky as i have literally no side effects so dread that i could run into some of the problems should i have to have more radical treatment like radio therapy or surgery.

Not what you want to hear at any time of the year, but to have it hanging over Christmas seems doubly not what you want. Your consultant should give you the best advice on which treatment to go for.

As others have said, try to remain positive and upbeat, and I wish you all the best for next year.

Sorry to hear your news Tricky, it’s never a nice thing especially at this time of year when you’ll want to enjoy yourself.
I hope you manage to get past it quickly and get back to good health.
Here in the Freck household we wish you, and anyone else going through similar woes, a Happy Christmas and a prosperous and healthy New Year. :)

Fookin' hate cancer! Been too close to it for comfort for the last 3 years or so (could be 4 - it does yer head in!). Radiotherapy, whilst usually a daily treatment, is not too bad - allegedly. Just use plenty of moisturising cream on your skin where they point the 'gun' to avoid getting burnt.
    GOOD LUCK!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you Bro! We are going through the same thing right now. My wife was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She has had the surgery and is healing nicely. Right after Christmas, she begins her radiation treatments. Her doctor says she is now cancer free, radiation is just precautionary to prevent any further problems. Early diagnosis is a Godsend! Best of luck and wishing you similar results.

We blokes don’t do touchy feely but a grunt and a manly nod speaks volumes. You clearly have a shedload of moral support; mine too.

    Hi,

Got my first consultant appointment today, Fri 13th!

Got to keep positive, and that's from someone who is inherently negative. I'm only starting on this road but from my investigations the dreaded side effects possibility is greatly reduced if you currently have no problems in those areas, especially if you can get the little isotopes radiotherapy.

    Good luck.

    Tony

Don't go working your self up over things yet. I have read a couple of your posts and you seem worried. Don't mate. I will look after your chop. Only joking you got to be a real man to ride that. I just as well have had all the man checks on recommendation of the doctor and it was fine. And let us your Brothers do the worrying that's why we call our self's family. For now have a great Christmas and an even better new year. O'h IF YOU ARE THROWING A BIG PARTY DON'T FORGET THE INVITES.
    Redgards & God Bless.
    Joe.

Sorry to hear about this, a lot of us have had that worry too so you’re not alone, modern medicine is absolutely fantastic, I’m sure you’ll be fine. And if it’s any consolation all of us on here, bar none, are rooting for you.

Have a great Christmas and give your family, and anyone else you choose, a big hug.
