Now that I take a closer look at the definition of "sharing", of course I was joking. "Divide, apportion, or receive EQUALLY"?! Whatever was I thinking, DD? I'm the same way with my desserts. Just ask Mr. Sandi.
Even though my favourite tipple is one of the peaty Islay whiskies I really enjoyed it! Not the strongest taste, but it lasts well and has legs, with a hint of fire at the end. I found that with a threat of water it opened out a bit. I could quickly and easily get used to this, I'll get another bottle tomorrow to put away in case the Sainsbo's offer ends soon. Cheers for the recommendation Oldfart
Twelve MONTHS!? I'm a big fan of taking things slowly and seeing how it goes. I might think about starting with twelve days (or maybe hours?) then working up to more from there.
Seems I'm now a member of the High West Whiskey Club. High West is a distillery in Utah. They make the "36th Vote" barreled Manhattan I've posted on here previously. I'm not quite sure how I became a member (maybe I signed up when I was drinking and online shopping?) but I'll take it. I got a little welcome letter, a couple of stickers, and a Whiskey Tasting Journal in the mail yesterday. Unfortunately the membership didn't come with a case of High West whiskey. But, as there were two already opened bottles of High West in our cupboard, I celebrated my new membership with a nice dram of their Double Rye last night. The other bottle in the cupboard is American Prairie Bourbon. Also delicious but I prefer the rye just a bit.
Thanks for the offer, DD. But nope. Nice try though. Of course, I do highly value your honest and fair opinion of all things whiskey. But not to the tune of $49.99 every month. Not when when I can get that for free right here on The Triumph Forum (of which I am a member handily enough).
P.S. And let the record reflect that I can only vacation when I'm not WORKING when the schools are on holiday. The mood to vacation takes me a lot more often than the ability to vacation. Because I have to WORK! Hmmm, maybe if I didn't have those three motorcycles I could WORK less?
The whiskey drinkers might like to club together and bid for this... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-business-50672313
If there are, they haven’t revealed themselves which is why I suggested clubbing together. Now, if everyone put in a £1, er we’d need a lot more members to successfully win at auction. A hell of a party afterwards though!
Very clever, CB. That might just bring the millionaire members out of hiding. I suspect, however, that we'd need to make it on volume. It sure would be a great party, though!!
I was running errands today and one of them included Costco to renew our membership and check to see if they had their annual Christmas shipment of Don Julio "1942" Anjeo tequila. No luck on the tequila but there was a bit of a customer crowd around this scotch. Alexander Murray & Co. "Monumental" 18-year blended scotch whiskey from Scotland. Have any of you had it? I checked with Mr. Google for prices and reviews as I stood there in Costco. Great reviews and prices listed ranged from $56--$99. Costco had it for $16.99!!! Well, I figured it wasn't too much of a gamble for that price. I'm drinking it as I type and it's quite delicious. Score! Oh, can any of you tell me what "Furth, Fortune, and Fill the Fetters" means??
Thanks, Privateer! I love the "good fortune"part, like the "going forth again my enemies", but I'm not thinking I'm too keen on "returning with captives"!
