Hi all, I've been toying between buying a standard Bonneville and a T100 for a couple of months now, and the main sticking point for me, is that I like the look of the T100, but the colour I want is silver, which isn't available on the T100 in the recent 2010+ fuel injection models (but is on the standard Bonneville). So, my thoughts are to buy something like a black/white T100 2010+ model and just get the petrol tank and front/rear mud guards sprayed silver. Having said that, I don't want repercussions of not being able to sell it in a couple of years, for the correct money because of a colour change. So my query is really, is it possible to get these parts sprayed silver, and then sprayed back to original, to good/acceptable finish with no evidence of previous paint colour etc ? And if so, what sort of cost is involved in doing this ? I'm trying to achieve the look of the attached bike (which is a pre 2010 carb T100). Thanks in advance David
Hi and welcome. my guess is if you get a good paint job done it shouldn't make a difference to the re=sale value as most who buy triumphs like something a little different. The cost I would guess would be around the £650-£800 mark, that's only by going on what ive heard, depends on what part of the country I suppose. Don't forget you will have to change the colour on your reg form too.
Have you considered changing the colour by spray-wrapping it? It means you can personalise your bike and then when it comes to moving it on, you can just peel the wrap off leaving the original paint in perfect, protected condition. Don't even need to tell Swansea.
As big lad says, Ditto Sometimes with vinyl you can play with different designs until the right idea comes along and then possibly have it painted permanent.
That's a great idea - it hadn't crossed my mind but I will look into that as an option. Thanks again.
