Hi all, has anyone come up with a solution to stop so much road crap roostering up off the rear wheel onto the rider and rear seat etc? I have a full size numberplate and the OEM tail untidy currently which I opted for as I wanted the best protection from this as possible... but the standard setup is useless!

What tire are you running? Maybe a tire with full rain grooves. I have got caught out in the rain twice running 65-70 mph but didn't notice it, but the super Corsa I can't help to think is going to carry over more water.

Ha ha! :joy::joy: "Tail untidy". That's a good name for it, Hippo-Drones. I have a "tail untidy" on my Speed Triple and make a concerted effort to NOT ride that bike in the rain. The fact that I live in southern Arizona does help.

Good point Sandi. I still have the ugly stock tail and plate, my SV had a tail tidy but the rear cowl stuck out even with the tire. I believe there is a post in the speed triple without a tail tidy had the same issues. Not much rain here either.
The street triple has about 6" of tire hanging beyond the rear seat cowl.

I am running Road 5 tyres. I don't think switching to Super Corsa tyres is a sensible solution as I don't hide from the rain on it.
I do love the minimalist tails on modern bikes, but they are shockingly rubbish in the wet!

See I think it is coming up from around the stem rather than from below the plate. Thanks for the link though, might give it a try for winter use and see if it helps any! :)
