Afternoon guys and girls, I’m Mike from Peterborough, UK. This is my 2010 Speed Triple and a 1959 Speed Twin that technically belongs to my Dad but I “liberate” it from his shed more often than he does. I had a 2005 Speed triple for a couple of years but that got pinched by some chav oiks on mopeds. I’ve had this one about a year and half now. The Speed twins probably been in the shed at least a decade. It was totally original including “bath tubs”. Together with Dad and a few mates it’s been completely stripped back, painted and rebuilt. It started misbehaving last year after we’d done everything except the engine, and I’d just booked the ferry for the IOM classic TT, so a rather hasty engine rebuild with +60 pistons, a remachined cylinder head (due to a floaty valve guide) and modern electronics has her completely buttoned up.
Hi n welcome some of us like the old original Triumphs as well, although i ride a new speed twin Tiumph as well lol
The old stuff is brilliant, but when you need to go more than 55mph without ringing it you gotta have something modern too
