I know, wheel removal should be one of those easy tasks that can ideally be carried out with tools carried in the bike's Tool Roll. However, the Rear Wheel with it's 46mm socket and 18" breaker bar requirement rule that out which brings me to Front Wheel removal and the question, "where / how" do I raise / support the bike to allow removal !!.
    Thanks.

Get the bike on its centre stand then put a block of wood under the engine and carefully use a jack to tip the bike back onto its rear wheel.
The front wheel should then be off the ground and be able to be removed. :grinning:

Trouble is there doesn't seem to be a lot of room under there unless of course the Fairing is removed. The only area I can see (which is quite close to the centre stand pivots) would be around the Oil Filter / Drain plug which looks far from ideal.

You should be ok as long as the wood isn’t directly on the oil filter, you’re not taking the whole weight of the bike.
The alternative is to add weight to the rear of the bike to tip it back, maybe even tie down the back wheel if you’ve got a ground anchor or something similar. :grinning:

If the GT is the same as the ST then when you use a stand like this the rear wheel will hit the floor so the bike won't be supported on the centre stand.

In my experience (based on 1050ST) there are 2 easy options:

1 - remove rear wheel and calipers then use a front stand as suggested by littleade

2- Weight the rear of the bike or put a jack under the engine then remove the mudguard front section and calipers

I put the bike on the centre stand then strapped down the rear and placed a chunk of wood under the front frame.... All because I didn't have the car jack handy, which is what I use now.
