Been a lurker for so long even though I owned a Daytona for 4 years (2013-2017) but spent time on daytona forums more. Now have a 2017 Tiger Explorer XCa in addition to 16 Tuono Factory and 14 S1000R. On a recent 100 mile offroad adventure to Clear Creek in California. Bought the bike with just 1250 miles on it and took it offroading at 1280 miles for a proper break in
Welcome to a terrific forum, Crazy! Great photos--as many others have said. I've not really had the desire to ride off-road but your photos make me at least entertain the idea!
I was you until my entire riding group decided to buy ADV bikes .. we have covered them all .. TEX, VSTrom, KTMA R, 09 R1200GS. 16 KTM 1090R and 17 R1200GS are missing in the pics. Our riding trips blog https://sujitkirpekar.com/ But I will always be a sportrider at heart. Fast twisties and trackdays where my heart is and ofcourse SPORT Touring. The reason I still ride the Tiger like a maniac and get 35 mpg. Need to calm down.
Fun video, CrazyBiker! Where is this?? I've said it elsewhere on this forum. My motto over time has become "Never say never". So who knows, maybe at some point I'll ride off-road too!
This is my local proving ground 3 miles away .. 11 miles of twisties - Palomeras Rd. I time my laps there. Best is 9:27 on Tuono, 9:35 on S1000R and 10:00 on TEX (1st run)
Cool! But my question is, did you hold all of your variables constant other than which bike you were riding?! I'm also a fan of doing multiple assessments/passes/etc. and taking the median. I'm a data-holic! I know the Tuono and the S1000R but what is the TEX??
https://goo.gl/maps/X2CHnRshvyhzM3GA6 Not constant variables all the time. That is why need multiple passes. And the best run on Tuono was in fading light so it might be even better otherwise . TEX - Tiger Explorer .. common term on other Tiger forums especially the Euro ones.
CrazyBiker Welcome to the family. Some cool bike there. The inmates will love ogling them And nursey will get a well earned rest. Regards & Ride Safe Joe.
