Hi All.... I am new to Triumph's and took the plunge with an old R Reg 595t Yellow Daytona. Enjoying riding in the UK after living in the Middle East for the past 15 years. Apart from it having an idle problem when warm... it runs perfect, starts on the first push of the button and it rides like a dream. I'm hooked. Idle stalling when hot I believe is an issue for remapping the ECU due to a race can being on it before. The engine has a recorded 21k miles and despite it being not cleaned that well by its last owner... it has a box of service receipts. My first aim, as I bought it for summer commuting, will be in winter to get it soft stripped down. A full Plastic Respray. Wheels need a respray and the rear shock cosmetically needs replacing, although it works fine. Front forks are 20-year oil, o they will go in for some loving and generally, a full cosmetic pamper session. As for the engine... I believe... do not touch it unless it is broke. apart from the idle speed issue (checked already all hoses and all are replaced 2 years ago.. no leaks etc.. although the throttle bodies could do with a really good clean down.... the bike just needs a good ECU reading and remapping. Ok looking forward to my future discussions with you all. Nigel
Slingshot_Daytona_97 Young man you are way to young to playing about on a beastie like that. Stick to the pedals for the next few years. Put that back in the garage. But welcome to the family. Regards Joe
