Wowser 160+bhp? Mmmmmmmm, me likey lots. I just hope they are taking notice of the qs issues with the current model and get it right from the off, they really can’t afford another foul up if they want to get their reputation back on track.
End of the high level exhausts? Did you see the mention of using the clocks and headlights from the new Rocket?
Would of thought more along the lines of 180+ hp from a big bore process. Also, where I live anything over 1100cc is a higher insurance cost, so no thanks.
I fell off my chair (figuratively) when I bought my Tiger - the insurance was £160 for a brand new bike... insane.
I guess not surprising that triumph have gone for the upgrade. Not my cup of tea, but it looks like it will be one hell of a machine...
I find as I get older that my 1050 is just too fast, I know I am in control but when I need and use the speed my brain can’t keep up with it, and my varifocal glasses bounce up and down on my nose under my aria which is a little disconcerting. At 67 and 5’6”” I struggle a bit with the 212kg when wheeling it about, but I still love it ❤️
I’m sure we will all get there, but good for you for continuing to ride and enjoy the freedom of your speedy.
I am getting much to fast and confident on the rs, I do not need more power even if it sounds good...But I will consider it next year ;-)
I was going to buy my RS this or the next week, but I will wait till EICMA to see the 1160 and then, wait again
I think that it could be a wise decision, considering the rs gearbox problems ;-), but if the don't change the gearbox ....
A 765 RS sounds like what you need. Good seat height, nice power and loads lighter; take a test ride and you might be surprised how much more manageable and suitable it would be for you?
And on that exact subject: https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesoci...019/august/triumph-street-triple-updates-2020
I hope they do something with the gearbox cos the one at the moment can't cope with 140 bhp let alone 160+.
I really enjoyed borrowing the 1050 a few weeks back when my 765 was in for service, loved the cruise control!
Yeah I love the cruise on my bike. I use it all the time, didn’t think I would. Gives my 51 year old wrists the break they need.
the problem was with the lever that was touching the bike body and making the quickshfit become mad. a few had filed the level and then its working fine.
