    Hey everyone!
Bought an '06 Scrambler this weekend and super thrilled. She's in great condition, low mileage ( 11 k ).

The previous owner had a non OEM silencer on the back which smelt horrible - huge amount of fumes. Looks super cool though.
So I put the OEM silencer back on and now I notice two things:

    1. It smells like unburnt gas
    2. I didn't need to open the choke to warm it up ( It's 80 Degrees F here )

My research ( trusty internet posts ) points me to think it's the carbs and the fuel mixture may be running rich.

    What do you think?

Sounds like it could be running a bit rich, although my Trident 900 needs very little choke to get started in warm weather. At 11k miles it is coming up to its 12k service (I'm assuming 6k service intervals on Bonnie variants) so that might sort it out - if indeed there is anything to sort! The air filter may be a bit clogged up though, if it has been used in dusty conditions. Might be worth checking before laying out too much money, although a good service on a bike new to you is never a bad idea, unless you got it from a dealer already serviced.

Sound like the carbs were tuned to the end can. May have to fit some new jets to suit the standard can
