When looking at bikes that have sold/ended what does it mean when the price is written in green and what does it mean when there is a line through said green price. Cheers.
Hi a green line though it means an offer was accepted on the bike under the best offer option. so the price the green line is though is not the price it sold for.that was the price it was listed at then someone put in an offer under that and it was accepted. hope this helps
If the bike for sale had an offer accepted the line will be though the stating price but that may not be the sale price. Will double check my eBay when I get in. I run an eBay business
I am a business seller and you can put that on holiday settings. But normal accounts you can not. Guess eBay think normal people don’t go away
I would just ring eBay and ask them what the hell they think you should do. If you tell them you are going away they can not charge you
I recently sold a Mustang Ducati seat to a punter that made an offer...got much grief off another potential buyer who insisted I’d broken the rules and he would have bid more had the auction run its course. Must admit, my ad. didn’t say ‘Make an offer’, but eBay said it was okay to accept the offer. Regards,Ken.
yes thats right and its up to you if you accept an offer from a buyer and if you do its nothing to do with any other buyer. BUT the other lad must not have had a bid in. If he had a bid in the the best offer option is removed once a bid go's in.
I don’t think you are correct. My seat had bids on it, but reading the eBay rules showed that you can end an auction early if you receive an offer that’s acceptable to you. Regards,Ken.
An less the offer option is there you can not make an offer by message and you can not end a listing to do an offer outside of ebay well you can but you will get a strike against you. I bid on 50 or 60 items a day and have 2000 item listed. if its an auction and it has bids no offers can be made as that option gos as soon as a bid is made. If its a classified listing yes offers can be made by anyone and at any time and yes you can end an item. but if its on a buy it now with a best offer option you can accept any offer but as soon as you accept the offer the item is then sold so no longer on ebay. I must buy 10 to 20 bikes a year and at least 20 other items a week. It all depends on what type of listing it is.
Just checked on eBay and it says. “You can end an auction listing early if there are bids and you are prepared to accept the current highest bid.” So, what I wrote in post # 14 is not worded properly. Apologies. Regards,Ken.
I thought the only way you could do this was if a reserve was on the auction and the bids placed hadn’t reached the reserve. They must have changed the rules since I last sold anything if you can now end an auction early which has bids on it.
As far as i know there is no way to accept the highest bid till the end of the listing. you can not end a listing then do a deal with the highest bidder.the highest bidder has to win it.I will put something on auction now and see if i have that option which i know i do not have.
You can only end the listing early if you accept the highest bid at the time. Regards,Ken. PS. Can’t post a link to where I found it, but if anyone wants to see it I will email a screen shot to email addys.
I have just listed an item that I sell for £79.99. I have put a pair of textile trousers on action starting at £30 with a buy it now of £79.99. if someone puts a bid in at £30 the £79.99 will go and then there is no way of me accepting any offers on the trousers they have to run to the end. or i can just end the listing and re list them i can not offer them to the highest bidder after i have ended the listing. I can only offer the item to the next highest bidder if the winning bidder does not pay. thats how it works for a business seller. Might be different for a private seller so you could be right
Yes that's right and if there was a reserve and it did not make the reserve the item does not sell.I know for a fact I can not just accept the highest bidder when an auction is running it has to run to the end
Anyway the trousers i have just listed someone will get a cracking deal as not going to end it will leave it run.
