Just changed my stock bulbs for LED ones - changed the relay at the same time but still no go. Realised that you have to reverse the connections from normal to make them work.
LED means Light Emitting "Diode" and is a semiconductor-sandwich which means it is a one way direction component for conventional current flowing from positive to negative.They will often need a high power resistor in parallel with each LED so that the flasher relay still works at the correct rate,as when the filament bulb was fitted.
You don't need a resistor with each LED indicator - you just change the indicator relay for a dedicated LED version.
So I thought! Did that and it was fine when I only had LEDs at the rear and normal bulbs in the front. When I changed all to LEDs they all flashed at the same time like hazard warning lights. You can, according to the internet, either install a resistor with each LED or you can remove the idiot warning light bulb which has the same effect. Given that two of my indicators are probably still rolling around somewhere on the A36 I haven't yet checked this out!
