Got back yesterday after a week in the Harz Mountains with my friends on assorted bikes. A couple of Yamaha FJR’s Three Harley’s BMW six cylinder tourer Triumph Tiger Honda 6 cylinder Valkyrie And some other not so interesting bikes. The biker hotel (Harmonie Hotel) was exceptional with super friendly hosts Peter and Corinna and very good value for money. If you are in the area of Bad Grund don’t hesitate to go stay there. Lots of trips out to a couple of impressive dams, the 36 hairpin bend road, Goslar, Hamlin and the V2 rocket factory and concentration camp of Mittelbau Dora in Nordhausen. Also not forgetting Pullman City where a Boss Hoss fest was taking place. We had dinner at the XXXL restaurant where massive portions of both beer and food were on offer. Waspy covered 1700kms all together. Here are a very few photos.
Yes it is a sacrifice, so I hope you guys appreciate it. Got to get my washing done ready for repacking on Tuesday/Wednesday. I’ll be doing a YouTube video of the trip including some rideouts when I get time.
Nice one Nikki, brought back good memories i stayed at the same Hotel. It's an ideal location for exploring all the brilliant roads around the Hartz mountains
We are just a bunch of old biker friends from about 15 years ago or so. We started off as part of the Suzuki Owners Club, but now we just arrange 2 bike trips (usually) per year. One at Easter and then a summer one. We’re already booking again at Harmonie Hotel for next year as they do get booked up. 14 bikes altogether. If anyone fancies joining us either at Easter (St Omer France) or again in the Harz Mountains there would not be a problem.
Sure I stayed there a few years ago. Believe it used to be owned by an English guy called Simon. He used to advertise it in the MCN. Like you say, great area for bikes. Eerie place that v2 rocket factory at Dora Mitterbau but well worth the visit, some excellent biking roads.
