    Good Morning All,

I just had a brilliant test ride on a Speed Twin, which is my leading contender for next bike.

The dealer is in 'where do we go next' mode, while I'm in 'get the insurance quotes' mode.

With the bike being relatively popular, what deal should I be expecting?

First thoughts are no money off, but perhaps something off their (no doubt overpriced) accessories...

Looking forward to joining some ride-outs and hopefully meeting some of you in the near future.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Agree with the others - Triumph won't discount the bike - especially as it's the popular "new boy" at the moment.
Blag money off accessories instead!

    Welcome to the forum buddy.

Pleasantries over, now in business mode.

    Where did you test ride?

Pop in to Woburn before you commit yourself. Definitely discounts on any accessories you buy in the next three months - mind you as a forum member you get 10% off parts and accessories at Woburn no matter where you buy the bike.

I must have been in the right place at the right time as I got £600 off in June and it looks like the price has gone up £200 since then. No accessories, just went for a red one they had in stock.

Regarding the insurance, I had a long conversation with Triumph's own who are Adrian Flux I think. Didn't use them in the end as we couldn't agree on the definition of "overnight." I went with LV who insure my car and van and they do actually provide cover when the bike is on my drive.
AF assured me that all insurance companies that cover you when you tick the box for "where will the bike be kept overnight?.... In a garage", will not payout if you pop in to make a cuppa while you are cleaning your bike and it isn't there when you go back outside. If it is on your property, it has to be locked in the garage or it is not covered for theft. Ridiculous. He ran a quote for "on my property" as well and it came back +£600. Good job it's not out on the road.

He also said that a garage had to be brick. As my £30k timber framed oak clad and tiled roof double garge is not, he said they defined it as a shed.
