Head gasket probs on legend

I've heard this done somewhere... Get a metal drill bit sharpen the opposite side of blade with a file then use a reversible drill, drill into shank anti-clock and after a while should start unscrewing, if not too strongly seized, hopefully!!

 

Or alternatively use left hand turn drill bits.

Well done biglad, I thought they were as hard to get hold of as left hand screwdrivers

 

Repair shop should be able to sort that, either using above and/or stud extractor, they may need to warm it up, different expansion rates between alloy cases and steel bolt. Personally I would use new head bolts, you need one anyway, but personal choice , hope all goes well

 

when I was in engineering they used a spark eroder to remove hardened snapped off bolts taps etc, it removed them cleanly and left the thread untouched, so if push comes to shove ! but you would have to price that against the price of a new part, but sometimes these things can be removed with an bit of heat and an easy out,

Good grief!! Can things get worse?? Sorry to hear that hope it heals quickly

 

If it is going to be weeks before you start, fill the stud hole plus gas or other penatrating oil, and keep it topped up until you ready to drill it out.....more likely to come out.
A bit of copaslip on the new bolts when fitted may prevent it from happening again
