Hi all, after reading several posts about colours available for the Speed Triple, I received an email from Triumph. Someone from Triumph must be watching this forum, the email was a survey for several different colour/graphic options. Anyone else get the email? By the way Jet Black is the best colour. Yeah Ian, i had the same email, i added that the new colour scheme looks hideous and the designer should be publicly flogged.
Amen to that brother. How to ruin a classy bike? May it look like a Yamaha! What is wrong with just painting it Gloss black or Diablo red? The colours actually put me off buying a new one last year and I had heard a rumour they may be doing some different colours for this year. So I patiently waited......What a fool I feel like now!
yep i got the same survey, the proposed colours are on the whole dire and the graphics look like something from blakes 7,utter shite. i also told them i have the matt black rs as i didnt like the white not that im in love with the black but best of two evils for me personally. its a plus one from me that the visionary that proposed these schemes needs a good kicking err re educating.
pretty much the same as i said apart from being flogged! On my response I also added "please loose the tacky graphics from the nose cone, tank and seat cowl" and that I'd love for triumph to repaint my bike in just the matt black. I really dont mind the stripes that much but i would love to have them taken off. Id love to be a fly on the wall to whoever reads our responses
I got the same e-mail about paint and color schemes. My 2019 RS is Crystal White. I never thought I'd get a white bike but I have three bikes and one of the other two is black (H-D Low Rider S) as is my car. So I decided to go with something different although I did agonize over the decision for a good long while. Of course I have to take into account what helmets and jackets I have that will fashionably match my motorcycles. I found a Shoei RF-1200 that looks like it was color matched (including graphics!) to my Speedy. I thought it was interesting that they had some pretty non-traditional paint colors in the survey. I'm a fan of more traditional paint colors typically so my votes were with black and white and the dark silver/gray. I had a 2016 Thruxton R in Silver Ice and loved that color and think the Speed Triple would look terrific in that color. But, when all is said and done, nothing is quite as bad-ass as a black motorcycle!
I agree, black motorcycle look awesome. I think the matt black paint on the speedy really suits the bike. Oh, and yes Sandi, one must be considerate towards motorcycle fashion . Speaking of which I had my AGV K5 S Darkstorm helmet before I bought my speedy, And me thinks it matched up very nicely, see photo below. Now it’s time for a new helmet, and with my long oval head, I don’t have a lot of choices. Below is what I have gone with, keep in mind it was comfort and fit that was the focus this time. Yes, that AGV goes very nicely with the Matte Jet Black RS, Steve! And your new Scorpion is a real beauty. The review of it was terrific. How are you liking it? I'm particularly curious about the AirFit cheek pad system. I like motorcycle fashion second only to motorcycles themselves. Well, maybe parts and mods are second and fashion third..... Nah, it's a toss-up. Riding gear and attire must be matching or at least complimentary for me. I don't hold others to that same standard, however. lol I might have no riding buddies if that were the case. Anyway, since I have three bikes, each of which is a different color (white, black, orange), I have amassed quite the collection of helmets and jackets. When I get teased by my riding buddies about said collection, my retort is that at least I'm not into planes or boats. Here are a couple pics of the Shoei RF-1200 model that I "found" (read searched high and low for) after I brought my Crystal White Speedy home. One particular riding buddy jokes that I had the helmet then bought the bike to match.
I’ve just ordered it Sandi, so I’ll have to get back to you on that. I’ve ordered two sizes to make sure the fit is correct. Yes the air fit does sound interesting. I’m not a huge fan of the graphics on this helmet, but fit and comfort are my main objectives here. Long ovals don’t have a lot of choices. I prefer the AGV graphics but the comfort hasn’t been the best. Anyway I’ll let you know after some time in the bucket.
