I have finally managed to get my hands on a bike I have been wanting for about 30 years. Should be turning up in a couple of weeks as I have to organise transport for it to get it down from Aberdeen.

If only you'd let me know, I would had ridden it down for you, for free.

VERY nice bike and worth the wait.

    Nice one, Steve! :)
Can't help feeling that if it was me, I'd be jumping on a train to Aberdeen, and staying in an hotel for the night, before riding the bugger back home over a couple of days. There will surely be enough people on here and elsewhere to feed and water you on the way back down. :D Some may even be able to offer you a bed for the night ... worryingly!!
    Probably the expensive option! :(

Riding it back isn't really an option Steve as wife and work won't permit and I'm in enough trouble with the wife at the moment. The bike has only done 18000 miles so apart from a few marks on the paint the bike is in very good condition and really looking forward to getting out on the road with it :D
First thing I usually do with a new bike is check the brake calipers and new pads and fluid before I go anywhere as it does help to be able to stop and there is fair bit of weight to haul up on this bike.
It would also be a scary riding the bike through some fairly serious bandit country as I hear that Yorkshire can be rather dangerous spot to pass through ;)

But I did notice that as soon I have brought this one the other bike that I also really want in my garage turns up. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Triumph-D...704?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2ee1dd0fc0

I was impressed with the Honda till I saw the Super III .. I remember when my stepdad used to come home with the latest Triumph brochure .. the Super III and the original Speed Triple in black or orange would always catch my eye ...

and still do .... I was around 17 years old at the time

But the Honda is not only a good buy, but I'd guess a decent investment too

Are you implying that my brother Yorkies are anything other than scrupulously honest and honourable? I take issue sir, I demand satisfaction.

    Swords or pistols ?

Let's put it this way, I wouldn't go riding up there if I were you, after that comment ;)

and an excess of speed cameras! I have just been working in Leeds and staying in Shipley and I couldn't work out what there were more of by the roadside: speed cameras or pubs, loads of them! is it so you Yorkshire men can't rush between pubs so as to slow your drinking down? [IMG]

As far as I am aware, North Yorkshire has no fixed speed cameras, though it does have several mobile ones!

Now, to solve the mystery of not rushing between pubs ... it is merely to prevent accidentally passing one!!:p:D

Hey I do know that area well crispey, Leeds road must have about 6 cameras in one mile and it's awful. Where were you staying?

I was sleeping at the Ibis hotel but most of the nights were spent at Fanny's ale house and The Ring O' Bells![IMG]

Oh no not Fanny's? A big fat Harley lad has it called Marcus. Good drinking hole though. I used to help out there many years ago. Was a pet shop once!!
