Hi folks , I have a 2009 Bonneville SE which has an Arrow 2 into 1 exhaust and a Dyna full flow air filter. I am thinking of removing the "snorkel " but do not want to go much further than that. Would it be best to then take the bike somewhere ( like Dynotech ) to get a re map , or to send the ECU unit to somewhere l( like TTP ) to install a tune ? I am not confident enough to download a tune etc myself , and although this subject has probably been asked about before I would appreciate your comments. Thanks...........

My advice to you is do about re-mapping until you are sure that you've done all the mods you think you'll want to do in the foreseeable future, such as:

    1. Remove the air injection system. This is a very poor piece of 'engineering' on behalf of the manufacturer to achieve THEIR pollution targets and does nothing for the end user. Causes the engine to run hotter, the exhausts to go blue, the exhaust to pop on over-run and the throttle to be jerky.

    2. Remove the O² sensors. These will be redundant when using a TTP fuelling map.

    3. Remove the snorkel and airbox baffle plate - these items stop the engine breathing correctly and should be removed to optimise the running performance of the engine.

    Hi filbay,
    As thebiglad says.
You have got the main mod done, with the pipes and snorkelremoved you have obviously looked at the TTP Website and know all their maps are set for the O2 ( lambda ) sensor removed and the "Breathe" high flow airbox intake cover added. So that will cost around £100 for the map, £70 for breathe £24 for O2 kit, £22 for cable. That will be yours and take it from me it will be easy to do, I did it so there's simple!! To load the map takes half hour tops from start to finish.
To send the ECU to TTP costs the same as above +£35 + P&P, you will be without your bike in this brilliant weather, I found the thought of removing my ecu more daunting than loading the map myself.
To take it to get dynotuned will be around £200 + O2 removal, if they give you a copy of the map you will need the cable in case you need to reload it.
The TTP MAP comes with the loading and diagnostic program built in now so it is even more simple. I know what I'd do as I've done it but it comes down to what you are most happy with.
I am sure if you have any further questions the biglad or myself will be happy to help

Yo 2009 SE Bonnie here, power commander, air sensors removed etc. Took mine to a Dynabike guy. Test was £25 to see where we were. I wanted max mpg. He is very skilled (sponsors and looks after 3 amateur racers, always tuning racers etc. We had a chat. I got 15 more mpg (air/fuel ratio needs to be 13.6:1), more power and torque and graph printouts to show both pre-test and after tune. Cost £150 (inc £25 pre -tune test), along with (if yer get yer bike serviced at Triumph do NOT let them alter map). Apparently they can sometimes do this without telling customer if Triumph have a new map out.

(If he had to fit power commander cost would have been £395)

As the other guys quite rightly say, do yer mods first and then invest £25 to find out where yer are as regards remap costs and needs. Just my experience FB good luck.
