I'm doing a tour of Southern Ireland using my phone as sat-nav. I have a waterproof case & mount and my Tiger 800 has the power socket. Question is, what usb adapter can I use that will be waterproof while being used. They all seem to have a rubber cap making them waterproof as long as you're not using them!

I would be surprised if you could get one that’s totally waterproof. What you could do is, once plugged in, double the cable back down then put a small plastic bag over it and seal it with a rubber band, something like a change bag, don’t laugh but sound technicians use condoms to keep mic packs dry, flavoured optional

I've used mine in the rain with no problem - the one by the ignition switch doesn't get too wet

Just a thought, usb being 5v and 2-3amps, would it matter? Surely there isnt enough power to cause a short even if wet?

The USB adaptors are hydrophobic and die if they get wet. I found this out after giving Tigger it’s annual clean, forgot to remove the USB adapter and got it all wet with the hose...

I agree completely, both cheap and effective.

You could use a "paraffin based grease" to stop water getting in !?!? Just apply lightly around the USB socket/plug as a barrier and for extra protection a clear plastic bag such as a resealable sandwich bag ?!?!
