Has anyone bought from this place as I have seen a Triple I am interested in? they apparently offer a lifetime guarantee, not sure exactly what they mean by that as

    https://www.wheelsmotorcycles.co.uk...5-TRIUMPH-Street Triple R ABS-675cc/19988.htm

This is the blurb from the web site (it does not seem to cover Triumph anyway)..….

Yes you have read it correctly - Wheels Motorcycles offer a lifetime guarantee on all new and used motorcycles over 250cc purchased from ourselves with less than 30,000 miles or younger than 10 years at the time of purchase for all Kawasaki, Suzuki, Aprilia and Yamaha models for as long as you keep it.

Wheels Motorcycles decided to take this step two years ago after previously charging for the guarantee and finding its benefits so attractive to the customer and for Wheels Motorcycles with its added customer retention.

There are no gimmicks or overpriced service charges. We simply ask that you maintain the vehicle at its normal service intervals (first service 600 miles then generally 4,000 to 6,000 miles or annually) with ourselves.

Included in this guarantee we also give away free MOT’s when required hopefully enabling you to have many years of stress free motorcycling.

There are no complicated or extra terms and conditions to this guarantee we simply extend what would be our normal used bike warranty conditions for the lifetime that you own the vehicle.

Also, if you are one of our low annual mileage customers, no need to worry about huge service costs we will simply complete a cheaper interim service and safety check annually to maintain your warranty.

This guarantee takes the risk and worries away from the purchaser and leaves it with us, your local dealer. So with all this and hundreds of bikes to choose from as well as great finance and part exchange prices call in to see us today.

Whose lifetime......yours, theirs or the bike’!?

It is pure marketing. How long are you likely to own the bike in return for a guarantee that ties you to their servicing and ‘nominally free’ MoTs without knowing their charges etc......?

I would not be put off but nor should you be taken in. It is nothing special.

Anyone remember Comerfords, Gus Kuhn, Searings, Bob Hill, Coburn & Hughes never mind Metropolis!

    I bought....picking up Saturday.

The place seems very nice, I think they are a Suzuki and Honda dealer

The sales man was very nice, not pushy at all. I was not able to have a test ride so I have put a £200 refundable deposit down (subject to the test on Saturday morning) and they will get it ready to ride away for Saturday morning if I am happy after the test ride.

As I suspected triumph are exempt from the lifetime warranty, 3 months for triumph.

  4. I know this is a bit late, but...
I bought my Tiger from here, and i won't ever buy from them again.
The sales guy couldn't get rid of me quick enough when i went to pick the bike up - he was stood talking to a group of his mates when i arrived.
I also had an electrical issue with the bike for the first couple of weeks i owned it, which they basically blamed me for, which was a load of bollocks.
To be fair, the service manager was ok, but the 'technician' that spoke to me, and the sales guy treated me like i was a fool.
    Never again, be warned people.

I couldn't agree more, had a real bad experience with them, last year bought a 650 versys, took it back for its 600ml service i said there was a real bad vibration all through the bike, can't take the mrs on the back it's so bad, they said what do you want us to do about it,they wouldn't take it out for a test ride,i ended up giving it back at a loss of a grand, bought an africa twin from there as i couldn't get out of the HP so had to have something, apart from that being the worst bike iv'e had in 40yrs i asked "the technican" to wire up the heated grips for me and because he couldn't push the eyelets through a clamp he cut them off poked the wire through then joined it back up with the thinnest wire youv'e ever seen,it wasn't up to the job of passing the current through and would have set on fire,i now make it my mission in life to steer people away from there.

  7. Jeez, my experience wasn't as bad as that, but i still won't go back there.
They tried to tell me, an electrical fault was down to me not tightening a battery lead up, which was complete bollocks.
I picked the bike up from them and a couple of days later it was dead as a dodo, i checked the warranty and the battery wasn't covered, so i sucked it up and paid £85 for a new one from another dealer. 2 days later and that one was dead too, so there was definitely an issue somewhere. I took it back to them (after a considerable amount of messing about on my part, as they wouldn't collect it) and left it with them. They got back to me after a week and said i'd left the earth lead loose on the new battery i'd fitted...
So why it happen in the first place i asked... oh batteries do that sometimes was there reply.
I couldn't get away from there fast enough after that, i was fuming. Fortunately, the bike has been faultless since.
