I went to Willingham woods the other day , a local bike meeting place near Market Rasen , where quite a few local bikers go , and there was one of these new Kawasaki h2 jobs there . A lot of the bikers who go there tend to be sportsbike riders tbh so there was quite a gathering around it . I was quite impressed by the paintwork to be fair , it was a mettallicy mirror effect - greeny black colour that looked very expensive & spacey . Anyhoo , I was sat talking to the only other person there on a cruiser (we found each other by accident, skulking in the corner having a fag) and he knew the guy who had just bought it , and said it cost £22 thousand pound , to which I nearly spilt my tea :0 and apparently the guy is fairly well off (good job really) but the thing that amused me was that when he saddled up & rode off , with about a 100 pairs of eyes carefully watching (which must have been a bit daunting to be fair) I couldn't help notice he was wearing a pretty rubbish looking crash helmet , I wasn't close enough to see what it was , but it didn't look like a quality brand such as Arai or Shoei . Each to their own I guess , anyone else seen any of these h2's out and about ?

  2. Not seen one in the flesh, but I would like to see the naked version they do. That looks very tasty.

    Not seen one yet.
I did read somewhere that even for a middle aged bloke with a good driving record the insurance was £7000
    Not on my wish list.

To be fair, £41,000 is a bargain if it is a technical masterpiece (not sure if it is though)
If you think back to 1992, Honda's NR750 was £38,000

As for insurance, I remember paying £1,150 a year for my VFR800FI when I was 22 way back in 1999

But a BMW s1000r is only 11 grand ish  think of all the bling and extras you could have out of 22k or a speed triple and tune the nuts off it both look better in my opinion...

  8. And look what the NR750 is worth now !!

I suppose the ironic thing with buying a new technical masterpiece is that it's value will really go skywards in say 40-50 yrs after you've bought it , which means ideally the optimum market will be 20 yrs old lads , unfortunately most people who will be able to afford it & be able to keep it mint without binning it somewhere will be dead before it really kicks in , good present to buy for the grandkids & stick in a cabinet I suppose , but maybe its as easy just to invest the money in a high interest account .

Apparently Chris Walker has got one in his new bike shop that's just opened in Grantham , I might pop along & see if I can blagg a test ride ha ha , maybe not , knowing me something's bound to go wrong :(

As with all high performance bikes that pass the threshold of intergalactic travel... unless in the Hands of Rossi or alike it will be like a fully equipped Land rover defender in the hands of a middle class Mother shopping at sainsbury's ... useless .. just for posing and look what I have. I used to own a ZX10 and it would often fool me into believing I could actually ride and go round bends at stupid speeds.. i have ripped leathers that dissprove that. I'll stick to my couch and get my sarnies out..peace.

Drugs an alchohol convinced me I could ride faster round corners!! Funnily enough the only 2 accidents I ever had were when I was sober!! What does that tell you about my riding style?!
