Retired in Fort Myers, Florida, where I can ride all year. 48 years of riding, mostly standards and cruisers. This 955i is my second Trump--also had a 2006 Rocket III about 9 years ago. My wife doesn't want to ride anymore, so I sold my cruiser (a loaded Roadliner--Corbin Fleetliner bags and fairing, etc) and bought a 2000 955i Speed Triple with low miles (12k), chrome wheels, fender eliminator, Renthal bars, TORS high can, a few carbon looking parts, seat cowl. Right now in the process of getting it right. New batt, chain, fuel filter, signals, metal female break connectors, oil and filter change, air filter. Still waiting for all the parts to come in. Looking forward to getting it on the road--so far have only taken a test ride, which was pretty impressive coming from cruisers. The bike I've had that comes closest, feel-wise, would have to be a '92 VMax.
Thanks for the welcome, Ron.I'll wait to get it back together before I post pics. Here's a pic of the Roadliner I just sold (great bike, btw):
Hi, Ray. I had a Daytona 955i a few years ago. It went like shit off a chrome plated shovel. Welcome to the asylum!
Thanks to all for the welcomes--still getting the 955i together. Put led signals on it (had no signals at all--PO said he was a Harley guy and didn't need signals), upgraded the flasher relay and did the diode mod on the flasher indicator light in the instrument panel last night. Waiting for metal break connectors (USPS misdelivered them somewhere) and a few bits so I can get the gas tank back in there, new batt, new chain. A SSSA stand came yesterday--much nicer working on it on a stand. Then an oil change, coolant change and then back on the road. I'll take pics and post when I'm done.
Ok, pics it is. Just got the diode mod done on the gauge cluster, waiting for female fuel break connectors and 1/4" bst tap so I can clean the melted nylon out of the threads on the fuel plate. Took a couple more, just to show her shiny bits.
