    Hi Guys,

I Have a 2015 street triple rx and I can’t remove my rear seat cowl. I have just got a tail tidy for it and can’t remove the old one to replace...

The key goes in and turns anti clockwise about 120degrees with no pressure behind it. I have been able to remove the cowl with no problems previously. It feels as if it has completely disengaged from the lock mechanism.

Has anyone else had this issue? And if so were you able to fix it?

I have a spare hammer if it helps. Think your cable or catch may be stuck. Just keep trying and spray some wd40 first before I send you the hammer.

    Hi guys,

Got it off had to get the clips at the front out then rotate to release it.
The locking plate wasn’t coming back all the way when turning the key.

Pulled the lock mech off adjusted the length of the wire that pulls it back and bob’s your uncle all fixed.

I take it you won't need my hammer now. But happy you got it sorted.

Hoorah. Frustrating isn't it? Had this happen on my SV650 once too. The cable from the lock to the catch had popped out of it's guide and was not pulling the catch back enough. Resorted to a bit of coathanger fishing which eventually caught on the catch and off it came. Glad you got it sorted. And welcome, as the others have already said.
