Picked up the new blue xl yesterday and after a bit of a bill of bad feeling over a test ride fee,Bill smiths came up trumps.Very good and friendly service and the bike is brilliant. I did nearly 100 miles it the sun and rain and enjoyed every minute,Great bike. Don't have a test ride unless you can afford it because you will want one.
I only just sat on the Scrambler at our local launch night but was very impressed with the look and size although even at 5’ 11” my feet could only just touch the floor!...think bit much for me to handle so shall remain happy with my Street Scrambler ... seems tiny by comparison. Did you say you had to PAY to take a test ride? ? ...not heard of that before (apart from the £1000 excess if the bike gets damaged while on a test run)... enjoy the Scrambler and perhaps post an update after a while on how you find it both on and off road... would be interesting to hear... have fun
I think on my first test ride of the street scrambler I have paid something to cover any excess as the standard insurance would not pick that up or something. Did not have to do that on any of the other bikes I have tested there. Enjoy the bike, I had over 2h on it Friday, mine should be ready for the collection this Friday, at 6'3" it is a no brainer. Street Scrambler got me back into biking, time to get full fat version.
HAD MINE A COUPLE OF WEEKS NOW, 750 MILES VERY BIG SMILES I have owned many bike in the 21 years since passing my test and this is, for me and my needs the best bike I have ridden in all that time. this ones a keeper, my previous longest lasted ownership was my speed R which I kept for 5 years and only sold because I needed the 1200XE
now finished the run in period and giving it some revs. This is a great bike. Not taken it off road yet but in my past life i used to compete in enduros and i think it would be great for fire tracks and long sweeping hillside runs.Bit heavy for muddy runs.If triumph fitted a front screen and center stand this would be an adventure bike up with the best. So far getting over 60 to the gallon meaning 200 to a tank.
I agree with your opinion about the bikes off road ability. I really don't think it was meant for an endure, rather a little off road fun! It sure is a fine looking beast. Enjoy it my friend.
I have just picked mine up from Bill Smiths. Traded in my 1200 Tiger. Love this bike and get on very well with all the guys that work there. Now I just need to see about getting in the miles once this weather lets up. then see what upgrades I can put on the machine
