Hello, bought a new Speed triple S last May as a 55th birthday present to myself. It's my 13th motorcycle. Changed the oil & filter today (been in motor trade for 39 years & worked with some decent cars over the years). The oil light has remained on though. Engine runs quietly, my only thoughts are is there an air bubble in the oil switch? Had similar problem with a CBR 600 many years ago & that was air which cured itself. Any ideas out there please?
SamsDad When you change the oil and filter. You may have to do the 12 minute start up. Just make sure the oils is traveling around the engine which it should be with only that procedure. Start without throttle let it run till the fan kicks in and it should reset. You may have to do it twice to get it. Just make sure its getting the oil around the engine. Ride Safe Joe.
Thanks for the info Joe. I left it yesterday & after work today I started the engine & the light went out straight away. I reckon there must have been a spot of air in the oil which escaped over night. Big relief but thanks for you advice.
Thanks darts player. Oil light out now! Must have been air bubble in there which disappeared over night. Very pleased! I see you are in NZ. I was there 3 weeks ago in Touranga. I rode my mates ZX14 for about 100k over there. Great roads generally, though the road works I came across were really rough! Great place to live though.
Welcome to the madhouse you should fit right in. To keep the inmates happy we will need photos. Tucker
