    Hello everybody,
Just been reading a few posts and found all of them to be thought provoking, interesting and of value so I'm really glad I found this forum.
Anyway, I've always loved classic cars and bikes from a far but my interest seems to to have gone through the roof more recently. Moving into a flat with a Triumph dealership a few doors down might have something to do with it.
So, I'm totally new to riding and Triumph and falling in love with both it seems. I like the classics and I like the scramblerised ones. I've been looking online and the T120 is one I like the look of (scrambled). Funnily, I didn't like the look of the actual scrambler at my local dealership but it was lovely to sit on. The T120 was really nice to sit on too but will need mods to get it look the way I want. I was thinking about getting a pre owned T120 and modifying as and when budget allows. I've seen Street Twin scramblers too which I like. Are any of these bikes better for modifying to a scrambler look than another?
Any advice or suggestion would be really appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Holty.

Lots of thoughts spring to mind starting with budget. Then where will you keep it/work on it - you mentioned a flat!
Fundamentally are you more interested in appearance than performance? Many of these bikes are low mileage anyway so no need to be scared of a 10yr old as you might be with a car and its bodywork. You might find an air cooled Bonnie for £3k gives you more fun and scope as your budget would permit a complete performance and aesthetic overhaul compared with a nearly new water cooled bike.

Welcome to the Family. Would that be Jack Lilley you are talking about. But you can't go wrong with any of those bikes and you will love them. To get that grin on your face is worth the world. We as a nation are losing the ability to smile as we we should.
    Regards
    Joe.

Well, not sure if this is the right way to go about adding to this thread but I scrolled down to the bottom and saw a box with a 'post reply' button in it so went for that.
So everybody, thanks for such a warm welcome - looks like I've definitely found the right place to start the new chapter in my life. Looking forward to getting to know you all (but mostly getting information out of you!).

Hello Callumity, yes I live in a flat that has a separate bike area with lock anchors (is that what they're called?) bolted to the wall. Don't think I'll be doing much work on my bike myself unless it becomes apparent that it is ultra easy and it leaves my bike safe to ride!
It is the appearance that has always drawn me to bikes and since learning to ride, the fun. Not that bothered about going super fast.
Didn't think of getting one so cheap as I've only looked at and sat on new and nearly new ones at my local dealer. Nice point you've raised though.
