Hi Mate and Welcome to the Forum  you will not be disappointed with a Street triple, I had the 675 and 765 both great bikes, just go easy until you build your skill levels, good luck with your test.

Thanks Angus. TBH I was thinking of a 675R probabkp around the 2012-2014 mark. Just wondering if it's a good idea for a first "big" bike.

Hi Ray, absolutely nothing wrong with the 675 either, they are many’s favorite for an everyday ride or commute and they can get up and go ! Regarding your question I reckon it will be perfect provided you are disciplined enough to be responsible when you are out on it. Of course it also depends on how you feel riding it, does it inspire confidence, is it comfortable, does it handle well for you etc... my opinion get the tests out of the way and take different cc’s for a test to see with what you feel most comfortable.

    Thanks Angus

That is what I am intending to do. There is a decent garage not far from me who said as soon as I pass I am welcome to do a few test rides. They have a good selection so I am expecting I will be able to try quite a variety.

Welcome aboard Ray. If you'd like to chat to someone in person about the STriple pop over to the Woburn dealership where I work.

Welcome to the Family. Great bike the 675. Really not a starter bike in my opinion. It really has an attitude problem. Where it likes to do as it pleases and loves wheelies.
    Ride safe
    Joe.
