Hi, Am Iain from West Sussex. Returning to Triumph after too many years playing with the Japs. In the past ive owned a 1977 silver jubilee Bonnie T140( my first Triumph that i bought new), T140 TSX. and a couple of Hinkley Trident 900 and Daytona 1000. Didn't even have the internet when i owned my last one. Now ive gone British again with a 2010 Tiger 1050. Forgot how the smooth power delivery from the triples is compared to the frantic Japs. Had a choice when buying the Tiger, was either this or a MT-09. But apart from the problems i had with the Silver jubilee Bonnie the big "T" has never got me stranded or cost an arm or leg to run. The other reason, Jap bikes look nice and shiny for a year or two but after that, they seem to go downhill very fast. Also, they are out of date as soon as you wheel them out of the dealers with a new model every 6 months. Well, that's the way i see it.
Hello Iain and welcome to the forum The others will be along shortly once they’ve had their meds and they’ve settled down
In My Own World Welcome to the Family. You do know we expect a photo of the Steeds soon. Helps us with our Meds And gives Nursey a rest. Had a silver Jubilee and two TSX'S And many others over the years. Just love the classic's. But you have a great machine now lots of the peeps here run the same model. Ride Safe Joe.
Once again thank you all for the warm welcome. Rode down to Exeter and back yesterday a total of 298 miles. Worked out the bike was doing 48.4 to the gallon Not bad as i wasn't hanging about. The bike didn't miss a beat. 2 minus points the screen is too low and as ive mentioned on another thread the headlights are beyond a laugh. Trying LED bulbs as soon as they arrive and save for an MRA screen
