World of Triumph have luggage half price on their website. Leather panniers and fitting kit 235, nylon ones 185. I've just bought the nylon ones , seems a good deal.

luggage arrived today. easy to fit. fair value for the money but definitely not worth paying the full price for them. still saves using a backpack or rucksack.

Any chance of a pic of them on? Do they just attach under the seat?

I sent them back. they slide onto a chrome frame which should be bolted to the rear suspension upper bolt and I think the rear footpegs. I didn't like the look with the frames fitted and didn't want to keep fitting / removing them. you can go to the triumph website and configure a new Thruxton and choose panniers as an option to see what it looks like with them fitted.

Thanks for that...I’ve done the configurator but was more hoping to see the attachment as I’m not sure I’d like it fitted permanently! Thanks anyway!

the fitting instructions are on line which may give you an idea what the support brackets look like. I thought they totally ruined the look of the bike.

Hi, no decided that in all probability I wouldnt be touring for days at a time on the thruxton therefore it would make more sense if I was going away overnight to just take a backpack/small rucksack . I had 40ltr panniers formerly fitted to my Sprint ST and bought a frame to fit them to my Tiger 1200. So short trips on either , long trips on Tiger. Sorted.

    hi

I am after your knowledge. Got the bike coming soon and have been looking for a pannier for my Thruxton R. It needs to be easily placed on and removed as required. It does not need to be both sides just enough to put my laptop in etc. Any recommendation would be welcome.

You might be better off getting a nice little rack put on the back, then you can strap what you like to it, although the thruxton is a sporty bike, its also a retro bike and would look quite nice.
Maybe a nice matt black one with a grab rail for a pillion.

I’m pretty sure none of the soft panniers will accommodate a laptop, this may a patent in the making.
I’ve got a magnetic tank bag that a laptop definitely wouldn’t fit in, and I use a MacBook Pro which is tiny.

So you’re going to have to look outside the box, my pal has what looks like a large back pack fitted behind the tailpiece of his fireblade, this would accommodate a lap top, if it appeals to you I’ll find out who makes it

Those bags look quite functional. Are those standard stock bars?

Yes, they are the "stock" bars, I'm 74 so they are quite low enough!:)

That’s good to hear, I’m approaching 70 rapidly and have been concerned if this old body will be able to contort to the TTR’s riding position!

I’m riding with the low clip on’s and they’re not drastically different from standard, so try both before you go for either
