I've mentioned this in another thread but I've just got one of these and planning to fit next weekend Looks pretty straightforward....famous last words Anyway I'll let you know how it goes and first impressions on the road weather permitting Also planning to put it on a Dyno in the near future
Erm maybe depends how much me and number one son fall out There’s a video fitting guide on here https://shop.tecbikeparts.com/products/cam-303
Absolutely transformed only running up to 4000 revs at the minute but the grunt is tremendous. My lad had a go (ex Triumph tec) and reckoned its quicker than a standard Thruxton so think what it might do to one of them ! Remember Ive also got X pipe DNA filter, booster plug and Remus cans with baffles out Sorry didnt photograph as we went but pretty straightforward if fiddly at times, TEC video is pretty good only add that on 1200 motors the decompression mechanism is done away with also found that removing cam chain tensioner blade was easier when putting chain back on. Also you need to allow ECU to recalibrate (with booster plug temporarily removed) ie start from cold ,dont touch throttle and run for further 12 minutes after fan first cuts in
George reckons the cams are the same between Thruxton and Bonnie but former runs a different ECU tune and lighter flywheel I guess the differential might be more noticeable on the Bonnie (or might be me !) This cam is modeled on the performance cam Triumph were going to offer but pulled due to concerns about aftermarket part regulations in some markets (California being one I believe)
DNA, K &N or similar will help a bit plus they’re washable so don’t need to renew Tell me more of the Hilltop remap please
Ah Ok, does their software cure the snatchy throttle? If I’ve read between the lines correctly on what their software does I’m thinking the sensitivity should have been totally eradicated.
Riding in sport mode around town will highlight the snatchy throttle scenario on all late injection / ride by wire bikes as the ignition is advanced to the max. There is only a marginal improvement on the slight throttle snatch on my TTR after the Hilltop re-map. But very noticeable increase in torque.

Thanks for the update, definitely sounds like a trip to Hinckley for the flash is on the cards at some point. Perhaps the simple answer is to put it in Road mode for town work and then into Sport once clear.
Or you could just send them the ECU. 3 day turn round. Very simple to remove/install & cheaper than the upgrade with the dyno run
Fortunately it's only a 250 mile round trip, but nice to have that option. Never did go ‘professional’ resolved everything in the comfort of my own garage with TuneECU
