power coating ,I cannot get the main spindle out even though I have heated the housing up .Am I missing something out and what is the correct method, the bike is a 1973 Daytona T100r

Hi Walter, and welcome in :cool: if you post this in the Technical section and/or the Daytona or Vintage Classic sections you may get a more informed opinion from those in the know.
That said I'm sure someone will be along shortly who will give you the benefit of their experience :):)

It is probably seized in with rust. If there is no play in the arm its self I would leave it. When you start riding the bike just keep spraying wd around it till a later date. Other than that get some one with a press and work it out with drifts.

I assume you have dismounted the swingarm and have a spindle seized in the bushings?

The easiest way is to go to your local garage and have them use their hydraulic press to push it out then also remove the bushings as they are likely in need of replacement too.

If you are going to give it some welly spend a bit of time ensuring the opposite side to being hit is fully supported. Wooden blocks up against a wall can be an effective solution.
