Finally got internet sorted in temporary rural France home and the snow started to fall... missing my Speedmaster but happy that it's being looked after by a mate who loves his Triumphs. Will get it back in late spring I expect so feeling a bit envious of the guys and girls heading out on their machines
WEnt out for a 5 mile run earlier, literally a run, with legs! I was wearing my triumph snoot so does that count??
Got to Plymouth at 5 pm. The ride on the Explorer was excellent. Just going to have a bite to eat and then plan my run for tomorrow..
Today I took a circular tour of Cornwall. I took the Explorer to Truro, Helston, Penzance and Newquay prior to returning back to Plymouth. Tomorrow I'm heading for Cardiff .
Used my Triple to commute into central London for work today. M40/A40 30 mile in and the same back again. Was freezing but roads were dry and not windy, the Triumph leather jacket is nice and wind proof so I stayed warm. It isn't a bad bike for filtering, thinner than it seems, balancing the power is a skill I still need to perfect but it performs nicely. Hopefully I will be doing this more as the weather warms up, it will save me £15 a day on the cost of going by train.
managed to finally get the bike out for a nice but fresh 50 miles to see a mate who's just had an op on his ankle now time for a quick clean
Just got back home from Cardiff. The Explorer performed superbly. The ride home was done in brilliant sunshine. I avoided the motorways and used only A roads. There were plenty of Sunday drivers out and about but very few motorcyclists.
Uncovered my Bonnie, unplugged the trickle charger, started it up, and rode it back and forward along the drive a few times, let it cool, covered it up.... No riding just now, too much salt on the roads here
Went for a ride yesterday - cold but beautiful sunshine. Stopped for a coffee and she wouldn't start again due to a flat battery (was permanently on charge). Went on the hunt for a new Yuasa but none in stock at the local-ish bike shop so have ordered one off Ebay France. Delivery 2 days apparently. The weather for the next two days is lovely - BUGGER !!!!!!! Dave
The weather man said Sunday afternoon will be sunny. So I spend Saturday morning prepping the bike.Checked tyre pressures, oil, header tank even gave it a wipe over with a cloth. So I've been sitting here all day waiting for the sun to come out, still no sign of it Bloody weathermen
On Thursday afternoon I ordered a new Yuasa battery off the 'net. Friday morning it arrived, was prepped for use and then installed. Went for a ride, stopped for coffee and she started again like she was linked up to the National Grid !!!!!! Been raining hard for the last two days - boo hoo !!!
Finally received my genuine triumph front and rear brake black anodised reservoirs And for good measure got some black goodridge hoses Just need time to fit them......
Had a run out to Southwold on the Explorer XC yesterday returned home today. The weather was absolutely brilliant. Dry, sunny but cold. Tomorrow I'm off to Inverness for a week. I'm taking my Trophy SE and the misses is driving to Inverness with all the holiday gear. I'm really looking forward to the ride. Weather permitting I will do the run in one day, however if the weather deteriorates I have a B&B planned.
Just been out for a bimble. 50kms out then coffee then 55kms back via a different twisty route. Blues skies and sunshine, just a bit fresh. It was beautiful. Apparently I rattled a young ladies windows as I went by
Decided to stop overnight in Dumbarton. The weather on the ride up was atrocious. Very very wet and windy. I'm hoping that tomorrow will bring better weather as I tackle the Highlands. The Trophy performed faultlessly and coped very well with the weather and road conditions.
