Flat battery !

You can do either, if your going for a decent run the bike should recharge the battery if its not had it of course.

 

I don't have a garage either, but charge it overnight out my bedroom window using the Optimate 4 and Optimate extension lead

 

I suppose a 2nd charged battery indoors is an option, but time/wilingness to swap maybe once per weekish might rule this out?

 

Unless you have an electrical alarm, I would be taking the battery off the bike - only takes a few seconds - and storing in the house. That way no-one can ride it away and the battery will be in better nick and charged up.

 

My bedroom window is 1st floor, could you not just park the bike as near to the window as possible? below it maybe? if its on grass or something covered up?

 

Just a quick work of warning to let you know don't leave a battery flat too long in winter as frost will destroy it. The plates inside will buckle from the expansion of ice formed in the acid A healthy charged battery on the other hand will stand up to freezing conditions as the electrolyte inside doesn't freeze. A friend of mine who had a scrapyard always used to say "I don't understand why all my stored good batteries are goosed in winter?" Well that's because they went flat!!

 

Just bought another battery for my T100 - Yuasa YT12B-BS off Ebay.fr cost 67€ delivered.

Allowed the battery to soak for at least an hour, then charged for a couple of hours. Allowed to rest for an hour then installed on the bike and all is good.

 

I had this problem with my Bonnie , its in a council lock-up about 5 mins walk away. So I bought a solar battery charger for about £15 on Ebay . I secured it on the garage roof , drilled a hole , fed the cable through and sealed the hole with a rubber grommet and silicone sealant to make it waterproof. It might not be practical for you, but it works well for me and solved the problem.............
