The voice in your ear whispering "build it and they will come" is DEFINITELY saying the right thing.

Not much wrong with those new Speed Twins but, given a choice between the two in your picture in post #41, I know where MY 10 grand would go ......... ;)

As we have got older we tend to ride the old bikes more these days and i have been looking for a T120 TT project for ages but by the time i pay what they are selling for i might as well buy one done :-( as it would cost less.

Interesting you have a date confirmed for a viewing. My local dealer told me they will be having an open night too, but I am still waiting for the date to be confirmed. Wonder if it will be the same date?

Interesting - Bulldog is my local dealer! But I have not heard from them. Have you received an invite then for the 21st?

There's a general announcement on their website, can't remember if I've had an email or not.

Turns out it's a UK wide event. I guess some dealers are quicker off the mark than others, but with 4 weeks to go there's plenty of time for everyone :)

Just remembered, saw a message a couple of days ago, Bulldogs are expanding and having building work done, their phones and internet have been down fintermittently because of this, so might explain lack of email so far.....

Triumph have been reading my mind, I've been dreaming of a retro with the power of a thruxton but the agility of the street twin and here it is. I've seen a few first ride reviews now and apparently it handles very well with plenty of grunt (for me anyway). Its a modified thruxton frame and the engine has a revised clutch assembly and mag engine covers making it lighter. The wheels are also lighter. Don't tell Rich Bryce as he'll be selling me one before I know it.

Just taken delivery of our demo, in that grey/black. Fits me nicely ;)

@Nickhall @figwold Looks like I'll be selling a few of my surplus bikes to afford one of these for myself, subject of course to a Sunday test ride or three.

I am really keen on the speed twin. I have 3 dealers within 35 miles what do you think of trying to haggle a better deal with one over the others. I don't think they will budge on price but maybe throw in some accessories.

and does anyone know if it has a centre stand

There's no centre stand listed on the Configurator. Mind you that was also the case when the Street Twin was launched, but a centre stand was listed about a year later.

@destination When buying a new bike remember only the dealer you bought it from can give you free labour on the first 500m/one month service. Anyway, if you've got a choice of dealer choose the one that you feel most comfortable with returning to because you'll find very little to choose price wise.

Hmmm... well, I obviously have form already but I have to say that - had the Speed Twin been available back in October - it's the bike that I'd be riding now. It overcomes all the shortcomings of the Street, whilst retaining all the character (and, tbh, the image) that I was after in the first place.

I'm certainly not going to repeat what I did back in October/November, but looking further down the line it wouldn't surprise me if the Speed ends up being my long term ride. The only thing that might prevent that happening is the knowledge that we'll be moving over to Tenerife in 3-4 years (SWMBO lived there when I met her, and already has a place out there), and given that riding those lovely coast roads will be a big part of my life out there I'll want to be sure that I take the best bike for the job!

    Decisions, decisions...

Hear, hear. It looks classy in the flesh. A bit more roadster than the T120, so fills a niche. I need one.

Anyone wanna buy a Street Twin and a Bonnie SE? I'll throw in a Sprint 1050 ST. ;)

I definitely prefer the new speed twin over the 1200 scrambler that I still can't quite get my head round and it's more expensive. The handling on the speed twin sounds amazing around the twisties. A few reviewers have said the throttle is snatchy at low speeds which could be annoying, although I wonder if they were reviewing bikes that hadn't been run in, I found my street scrambler throttle was snatchy for the first 2000 miles, now its fine. My only other concern is that the bike might be a bit small for me, its got a low seat height and I'm about 6ft. I'll just have to try it out.
