New To Sport Bikes

    bought an 04 Daytona 600. on my first ride I scrapped my oil plug on a speed bump. think ill be ok changing oil and the plug and crush washer or is my oil pan going to need to be changed.

    I can when I get off work. I work nights so it will be a couple hours. but it seams to be leaking directly from the drain plug. the only damage I could see was the bolt was a little scrapped.

    that's my plan I was only rolling the parking lot at my work just has huge speed bumps but ill post pics in the morning when I get home. plus its not like the whole pan emptied just a few half dollar sized drops. so im optimistic

    So after giving it a good look over it appears that the bolt was loosened. I didn't see any cracks. So I think I got lucky. Still going to drain oil and replace plug and washer

    Might take it to my local shop and have them inspect it just to be safe

    Try and get a flat allen type sump plug this with shorten it so you don't hit it again.
    I did exactly the same thing on a 98 daytona but cracked the sump and had to buy a new one:mad:
